What information do I need to provide?

Typically, your insurer would need to know:

  • If repairs are necessary, please provide two like-for-like repair quotations
  • If replacement is necessary, please provide a report confirming the item is beyond economical repair, the original receipt, and two like-for-like replacement quotations
  • A crime reference number for lost or stolen items reported to the police

Fire claims

What information do I need to provide?

Public liability claims

What information do I need to provide?

Please do not admit blame. If a claim is brought, your insurer will investigation to establish what happened and who was responsible. Even if it looks straightforward, there may be circumstances you are not aware of.

If you have received a formal solicitor’s letter of claim against you, or an incident has happened that you believe could lead to a claim, please tell us immediately.

Property damage

Your insurer would need to know:

  • Your name and company details
  • Your insurance policy number and contact details
  • Details of the person potentially claiming against you

The will also need to know details of the incident, including:

  • The date, time, and place it happened
  • How it happened
  • Details of damage
  • Estimates of damage repairs (if possible)

Personal injury

The first thing you should do is act quickly to minimise any damage or injury. That may mean making sure the injured person receives medical attention, or ensuring no further damage is done.

It’s important to make a record of what happened, including:

  • What happened during the incident
  • The time and date
  • Names and contact details of everyone present at the time
  • You should consider taking photographs and obtaining statements from any witnesses

Travel claims

What information do I need to provide?

Cancellation claims

  • Where and when the incident happened
  • Your insurance policy number
  • Claimant’s name
  • Copy of trip booking invoices
  • Copy of trip cancellation invoices
  • Amounts being claimed and proof of payments.
  • If cancellation is due to illness or injury, provide confirmation from claimant’s GP/Consultant of being unfit to travel

Personal possessions claims

  • What happened
  • Where and when the incident happened
  • Your insurance policy number
  • Claimant’s name
  • Copy of trip booking invoices
  • Proof of original purchase receipt for property
  • Amounts being claimed
  • Provide two like for like estimates for replacement of item(s)
  • Police Crime Reference Number – for lost or stolen property

Medical expenses claims

Please ensure you have contacted your insurers ‘Emergency Assistance Line’ as per your policy documents in the first instance.
