Protection for your golfing activities

As a PGA member you're protected by Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.

This covers legal liability for damages and legal costs arising out of third party loss, injury or damage, in connection with the activities described below and notified to Insurers within the period noted on your certificate of insurance.

Cover includes public liability, professional indemnity, liability for damage to leased and rented premises. Cover includes the professional advice you provide whilst coaching, provided that the activity falls with the remit of your approved training or qualifications.

Cover is provided up to a maximum of £10 million and will protect you worldwide.

Insured activities include:

  • Your personal coaching, instruction and demonstrations in accordance with PGA guidelines
  • Personal golf playing activities, including participating in formal events

We strongly advise that all activities are appropriately risk assessed, keeping records of such is paramount in the defence of any claims made against you.

Please note this policy does not provide Employer's liability insurance - If you employ an assistant coach to help with your coaching, you could be held liable for an injury to them sustained whilst they were working under your direction.

If you think you need additional cover, you can speak to the team at Howden.

Limited Companies

Your PGA insurance extends to cover your limited company.  Cover is specific to you as a coach when coaching on behalf of your limited company.

PGA members and their businesses will continue to need a separate insurance policy if:

  • Your business has paid employees
  • Your business organises golf trips and tours
  • Your business activities exceed teaching, instructing and coaching golf in accordance with PGA guidelines
  • If your retail activity (including the sale of golf equipment, equipment fitting services) exceed 25% of your total annual turnover

If you require separate insurances please email [email protected]
