Pony Club Volunteers

The Pony Club could not function without the generous help of many volunteers. This section details the protection that volunteers have whilst performing their duties for Pony Club branches.
Volunteers insurance
Volunteers are fully insured for third-party public liability whilst they undertake any activity on behalf of The Pony Club, including at social events and committee meetings. Therefore, whether you are performing your duties as a committee member, judge, or steward, you can be safe in the knowledge that if you were held legally liable for an accident, you would be afforded indemnity under The Pony Club policy.
All Coaches are included within the Pony Club policy whilst coaching at any Pony Club event. If you are a freelance coach and coach people outside of Pony Club events (including if you are teaching a Pony Club member outside of a Pony Club event), then you will need to obtain your own freelance coaching insurance.
Howden can arrange freelance coaches liability insurance for Pony Club coaches. For more details call: 0203 857 7950.
Volunteers at branch events do not automatically have the benefit of personal accident policies for their volunteers through Pony Club HQ, as this is the responsibility of the individual branch. Most branches purchase personal accident insurance for their volunteers at Pony Club events. Please contact your branch directly if you require details of the cover in place.
The Pony Club third party liability policy also covers all Area and National Competitions.
Because Area and National competitions fall into the remit of Pony Club HQ rather than branches, there is personal accident cover for any volunteer at a Pony Club Area event or National Championship.
The personal accident cover provides benefits up to £100,000 for death and permanent disablement. It also provides temporary total disablement benefits for loss of earnings and incidental costs associated with an injury during the course of your volunteering duties at an Area or National event.
