Accident and Incident Reporting
All incidents that occur at a Pony Club event, no matter how minor, should be recorded in an accident log in accordance with Pony Club Health and Safety procedures.
If the accident or incident is more serious in nature, it must be reported via the Risk Reduce portal. Examples of injuries and accidents that must be reported include:
- Bone fractures
- Head injuries/concussion
- Facial injuries
- Loss of consciousness
- Injury requiring resuscitation
- Damage to internal organs
- Serious lacerations requiring stitches or hospital investigation
- Any damage to third-party property
- Any serious injury to a horse or pony

Please note this page is not for third parties with a grievance against The Pony Club or a Pony Club member. If you have reason to believe you may have a valid claim against The Pony Club please contact the Howden Claims team at [email protected] or call 01234 408610.
Please also contact Howden if you are a volunteer who has been injured during the course of your duties at an Area or National competition and believe you may be eligible to claim under the personal accident policy.
