Howden is the official insurance partner and sponsor to the National Care Association (NCA) and is proud to have held this position since 2015.

We believe strongly that the synergy between our two organisations can benefit providers in the social care sector who utilise our services.

The NCA works to promote and develop the highest standards of care in the sector. In particular they are focused on supporting small and medium care homes, providing crucial information, advice and guidance specific to the challenges they face.

We're living in challenging times

The risk environment for care providers is complex and diverse at the best of times, but with the added pressures of the unprecedented situation we find ourselves in currently, care providers may be finding it challenging to access the right information and guidance enabling them to continue to operate confidently.

Over the past few weeks, there have been ceaseless updates to procedures and regulations in the care sector with regards to Covid-19, along with a constant stream of advice and guidance for operators and staff working on the front line. For many small to medium care providers we understand that it is challenging to keep on top of everything.

Latest advice from the NCA

The NCA is always abreast of policy development and government advice in the social care sector. This means they are able to provide its members with the most accurate and up to date information on almost a daily basis.

Insurers expect care businesses to adhere to the latest advice and legislation when it comes to all aspects of operation and currently infection control and the procurement and use of PPE are particular areas of focus.

Please follow the links below for some of the latest advice provided by the NCA to its members in relation to these topics. This is just a tiny snapshot of the huge support and information the NCA is providing to its members at this critical time.
