Keeping your basketball activities safe
As a licenced participant of Basketball England you are protected by public liability and professional indemnity insurance whenever taking part in activities authorised by Basketball England.
This policy covers the cost of defending yourself against a claim if you are held responsible for loss, damage or injury to someone else or their property.
Your licenced participant membership cover protects you with the following:
- Public liability - up to £15 million limit of indemnity
- Professional indemnity - up to £5 million limit of indemnity
Personal accident insurance
As a licenced participant, your membership benefits include personal accident insurance to provide you with a 'no fault' benefit in the event you are injured whilst taking part in your sport activities recognised and authorised by Basketball England.
Details of your insurance benefits:
- Death - £25,000
- Permanent loss of sight/hearing - £25,000
- Permanent total disablement - £25,000
- Coma benefit - £50 per full 24 hours up to a maximum 104 weeks
- Hospitalisation - £50 per full 24 hours up to a maximum 104 weeks
- Dental - up to £500
- Optical - up to £500
- Accidental medical expenses
- Broken bones - a breach in the structure of the bones, other than hairline fractures as a result of bodily injury following an accident (a) which necessitates treatment by plaster cast of one or more of the bones (i) arm (humerus, radius, ulna, carpals) £100; (ii) leg (femur, tibia, fibula, metatarsals, tarsals, patella) £200; (b) of the clavicle £200; (c) of the skull £200
- Special conditions applying to the broken bones benefit extension
- The maximum amount payable under this benefit is £500 any one insured person for any one accident
Please note the membership personal accident insurance has specified benefits, does not include temporary total disablement, and is not an income protection insurance.

Income protection
Are you worried about your income if you were injured or sick and unable to work? Income protection is designed to replace or supplement your income in the event that you are unable to work.
