As a region county or club, you have a duty of care to all those participating in the sport of archery and its visitors.
 

A region county and club must do all it reasonably can to reduce or eliminate loss, damage or injury to others and it may be held legally liable to others if it fails to do so.

Your affiliation to Archery GB provides you and your members with some insurance protection through our Combined Liability insurance. 
 

Recognised activity

Insured recognised region county or club and club members’ activity includes:

  • training for and competitive archery
  • social
  • fund-raising
  • administrative activities

If the activity you are planning is not listed, or the environment where you are shooting is not currently approved, please refer to  Archery GB for approval or referral to the insurers.

The combined liability insurance includes:

Protects the region, county or club and its committee and members against a claim made against you following loss, damage or injury to someone else or their property. Cover is provided by Hiscox Insurance Company Ltd and Zurich up to a maximum limit of £10 million. (£5m in respect of Abuse).

Covers the Region County or Club, or committee if held liable for an injury that an employee suffers during the course of employment. The policy includes injuries to volunteers and the maximum limit of cover is £10 million. (limited to £5m in respect of Terrorism).

This is a legal requirement for any club that employs people paid or unpaid. Cover is provided by Hiscox Insurance Company Ltd.

Covers Region County or club committee members/directors for their personal liability for any claims that are made against them for breach of duty to a maximum of £10 million any one claim/per policy year. D&O cover is provided by Hiscox Insurance Company Ltd and Zurich, to protect club officials and committee members.

Examples of breach of duty include:

•    Breach of fire safety regulations
•    Corporate manslaughter.

This insurance also extends to volunteers whilst working on behalf of Archery GB Regions/Counties and Clubs in the event they are alleged to be responsible for an injury to a third party or damage to their property including another volunteer or member.  
 



Report an Incident

It is essential that you notify your insurance brokers, Howden, of any accident or incident that may give rise to a subsequent claim.
