Howden expands its Financial Advisory expertise into Limerick with the acquisition of Thomond Asset Management

Dublin, 16 July 2026: Howden today announces the acquisition of Thomond Asset Management, the trading name of Folk Asset Management Limited, a Financial Advisory business headquartered in Limerick. This acquisition is another step in Howden’s ongoing expansion of its Financial Advisory team in Ireland and enhances its existing client proposition, while adding additional scale and technical expertise.
Founded by Tom Fitzgerald, Neal Kelly and David O’Neill, Thomond Asset Management provides expert advice on financial planning for individuals and business owners, pensions (pre- and post-retirement), investments, and estate planning. Through the acquisition, Thomond’s team of nine experienced professionals will join Howden, supporting its continued Financial Advisory growth across Ireland.

Thomond Asset Management has built a strong wealth management business in Limerick City, with values that closely align to our own. Thomond’s focus on long-term client relationships, built on trust and openness, mirrors our commitment to putting clients at the centre of everything we do. This acquisition will offer their clients an even wider range of services, while ensuring they continue to access expert advice close to where they are based. I’m delighted to welcome Tom, Neal, David and the wider team to Howden.

We’re excited to join Howden as its first Financial Advisory acquisition in Limerick City. This partnership means our clients will benefit from greater resources and broader expertise, but with the same personal service they value today. We look forward to continuing to support our clients across all aspects of their financial planning and insurance needs.
This acquisition builds on Howden’s growing Financial Advisory capabilities, following the additions of Maven Financial Planning in April 2026 and Opes Wealth Trust in May 2026. Launched last year and led by Dermot Gaskin, the team now includes over 80 professionals supporting financial planning and advice needs of a large volume of clients across Ireland.
The acquisition of Thomond Asset Management, the trading name of Folk Asset Management Limited, is subject to CBI regulatory approval.
