Our vision in action
In a year that was officially the hottest on record and in which extreme weather events topped the World Economic Forum charts of long-term global risk, we cemented our position as an industry leader and drove forward tangible solutions that support a more equitable and resilient future.
From pioneering insurance solutions to strengthening resilience in climate vulnerable communities, our work continues to reflect our commitment to long-term impact.
Navigating the energy transition: our approach to risk
As the Climate Risk and Resilience team, our missing is to embed climate and resilience into global client solutions.
Key milestones included:
- The second year of the Global Risk and Resilience Fellowship
- The creation of a pioneering carbon capture and storage (CCS) leakage facility
- A collaboration with Microsoft to launch the Howden Resilience Laboratory
- The inaugural De-Risking Summit during London Climate Action Week
Insights from COP29 and the road to COP30
Building on our reports developed in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and UN Climate Change High-Level Champions - The Bigger Picture and The Great Enabler - we spotlighted the urgent need for an additional $10 trillion in insurance coverage to unlock the climate transition. These findings were brought to life through 11 high-impact solutions showcased at the UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP29) in Azerbaijan.
Throughout 2025, we have continued to advance this agenda across global platforms. As we look ahead to COP30 in Belém, we aim to further catalyse action and finance, scale resilience, and contribute to the inclusive and innovative spirit that Brazil is championing.
