Frequently asked questions
You can choose between an annual policy or a short term / single production policy for one off shoots.
Most policies offer worldwide coverage, please ensure all locations are declared in advance.
Yes, provided they are declared in advance. This includes activities such as fire and explosion SFX, pyrotechnics, water work, vehicle use, animals, and aerial filming. Any hazardous activities that are not disclosed may be excluded from cover.
Coverage for digital assets varies by insurer. Some policies include protection for data loss, corrupted footage, or media failure, provided proper backup procedures were followed. Failure to back up files may void this section of cover.
Freelancers, contractors, cast and volunteers engaged by the production are generally covered only for third‑party liability while performing duties for the production, but they are not covered for their own injuries, which means they should maintain their own personal or business insurance where appropriate.
Most production policies include transit cover for equipment transported between locations, domestically and internationally, provided it is transported safely (e.g., in a protective case and reasonable precautions). High‑value items or specialised gear require separate declaration.
You must declare any concurrent work in advance. Losses arising from undeclared external work may not be covered.
Yes. Public liability generally covers accidental property damage to filming locations, venues, or other third‑party property during production. However, it does not cover intentional modifications or alterations to locations or any damage arising from such changes.
Vehicles used as part of the production (on screen picture vehicles) can be covered but they require a separate declaration.
