Chair, Howden Asia
Chair, Howden AsiaChye Huat joined Howden in October 2015, bringing with him over 25 years of industry experience. He was appointed as the regional CEO for Howden Asia in January 2016, where he has management and strategic oversight on its retail broking operations across six Asian countries and IPG Howden, a leading high networth life insurance broker that operates across Asia, and EMEA.
Chief Executive Officer, Howden Asia
Chief Executive Officer, Howden AsiaRohan joined as Deputy CEO of Howden Asia in June 2025, bringing with him more than 23 years of insurance broking experience spanning Asia, India and the USA.
In his current role, he has management and strategic oversight of Howden’s retail broking operations and Private Wealth division, a leading high-net worth life insurance broker that operates across Asia and EMEA. Across the Asia region, he has accountability for 7 countries, 37 offices and more than 1,600 staff.
Prior to Howden, he was the CEO of Marsh McLennan Hong Kong and Macau, where he was responsible for the integration of the Jardine Lloyd Thompson acquisition. He held leadership roles in India and across the region in Sales, Client Management and Private Equity Mergers and Acquisitions.

Chief Executive Officer, Howden SingaporeJenny was appointed the CEO of Howden Singapore in May 2022. Prior to her appointment, Jenny served as a member of Howden Singapore Executive Committee for more than 6 years, during which she headed the Financial Lines portfolio, growing it more than 3 times and building up respectable specialisms including Financial Institutions, Cyber, Healthcare and M&A. Before Howden, Jenny worked with an international insurance broking firm for more than 15 years, initially focusing on business development for all lines of insurance and subsequently heading a professional & executive risks team.

Executive Committee, Strategy and OperationsHeading Strategy and Operations, Gerard’s focus is to drive operational efficiency that enables the execution of business strategies for Howden Singapore. He also supports the Asia regional office on strategy development. Gerard has more than 30 years of insurance experience and have developed various strategic solutions for clients. Prior to joining Howden, Gerard was the head of Business Development at an international insurance broking firm and held various roles as an insurer.
Executive Committee, Corporate Risks
Executive Committee, Corporate RisksGracy has more than 30 years’ experience in insurance broking with focus in Construction, Property and Liability insurance. She leads the Corporate Risks division in offering insurance solutions to corporate clients across all industries with local and overseas operations. Prior to Howden, Gracy held similar positions in two other international insurance broking firms where she worked with risk and insurance managers, finance and procurement officers in both the public and private sectors. She has structured relevant insurance for the first REIT listed in Singapore, managed the insurance programme for several underground rail and road construction projects and worked with government statutory boards in achieving cost-coverage optimisation while keeping to the strict procurement procedures.

Executive Committee, Employee BenefitsPrimus is the Employee Benefits Practice Leader for Howden Singapore. He is also a member of the Howden Global Employee Benefits Committee and Howden Singapore Executive Committee. Primus has been in the insurance industry for more than 30 years, with a specialty in Employee Benefits insurance broking for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Howden, Primus held positions as Practice Leader for Employee Benefits, Financial Lines & Business Development for 18 years with an international insurance broking firm. His extensive experience and technical capability has nurtured him as a successful insurance broker responsible for securing and managing many major clients.

Executive Committee, Human ResourcesIvy brings over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and holds a firm belief that people are at the heart of every successful organisation. Her career spans the full spectrum of Human Resources, from generalist roles to leading HR Shared Services teams and heading the HR function. At Howden, Ivy is responsible for crafting people strategies that align with the company’s overarching business objectives. Her key focus areas include talent management, employee experience, total compensation and benefits, and holistic well-being. She works closely with business stakeholders to champion People First initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture and enhance employee satisfaction in an ever-evolving work environment.

Executive Committee, FinanceJoyce is the Finance Director at Howden Singapore, bringing over 25 years of experience in the finance sector, including 9 years with Howden. She has a strong track record in regulatory compliance, financial and management reporting, and taxation. Joyce plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to senior leadership, driving business performance through effective people management, system transformation, and continuous process improvement. She is known for delivering accurate financial insights and fostering a culture of operational excellence across the organization.
Experts
Cyber
CyberEdward has over 20 years of experience in technology, media and communications. As the Cyber Regional Director, Edward has helped clients in sectors such as finance, attraction, aerospace, media & entertainment, cloud providers, telcos, and manufacturing, to identify and quantify their cyber risk gaps, transfer these risks to cyber insurance while bolstering organisational incident response and controls. As the cyber practice lead for the region, Edward also conducts training for cyber brokers and clients and develops partnerships in cybersecurity for Howden. Prior to Howden, Edward has managed crisis communications for various teams at a global telco as well as worked on a spectrum of government-led digital strategies to develop Singapore's Infocomm-Media industry locally and regionally.
Financial Lines
Financial LinesKaren heads the Financial Lines team with over 19 years of insurance broking experience specialising in financial lines. Prior to joining Howden in 2015, Karen provided a full spectrum of insurance consultancy services for financial lines at another international insurance broking firm for more than 6 years. She has accumulated extensive experience in designing and structuring optimal insurance programmes for top market cap listed companies as well as major private companies.
Employee Benefits
Employee BenefitsSarah heads the employee benefits business development team. With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry specialising in employee benefits, she is actively involved in the designing and implementation of employee benefits insurance programmes for major clients and prospects. Prior to joining Howden in 2015, she worked in various international insurance broking firms where she handled large multinational clients’ renewals and account servicing for employee benefits insurance.
Mergers & Acquisitions
Mergers & AcquisitionsTze Yang has been in the APAC M&A market since 2013, specialising in cross-border and international M&A transactions. At Howden, he has worked on insured M&A transactions originating in London, EU, North America as well as APAC, with several cross-border transactions having values over US$1 billion. Before joining Howden in 2017, Tze Yang practiced with a renowned law firm’s Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions department, where he qualified as an advocate and solicitor.
Head of Strategic Solutions, Climate Risk and Resilience Champion (Singapore)
Head of Strategic Solutions, Climate Risk and Resilience Champion (Singapore)Merrilyn heads the Strategic Solutions team in Singapore, specialising in property and casualty risks. She is responsible for bid management, transitional management, advisory, design, and implementation of general insurance programs for corporate clients. Merrilyn has over 20 years of experience in international broking firms focusing on new business development and placements. Her experience has enabled her to structure cost-effective multinational insurance solutions for major corporate clients in both the private and government sectors.

Key AccountsMay leads the Key Accounts team in the Corporate Risks division, specialising in offering insurance solutions to major real estate clients with diverse portfolios of property around the world. May has more than 30 years of experience in insurance broking at international broking houses, with majority of her career focusing on servicing large and complex corporate clients’ insurance programmes in real estate, hospitality, food & beverage, ports & terminals, electricity and gas transmission and distribution. Her expertise includes risk analysis, structuring, designing, placement and managing of multinational insurance programmes for large and complex corporate clients, covering their operations around the globe.
Middle Market
Middle MarketStella brings more than 45 years of experience to Howden as Senior Director of Mid Corporate Risks, managing SME commercial accounts. Prior to Howden, Stella worked with various insurance companies, focusing on commercial lines insurance and SMEs in particular. She served as the Chief Executive Officer of Sompo Insurance between 2013 to 2019. Stella has served as a member of the GIA’s management committee for more than a decade, including a few terms as Vice President. She also served as Chairman of the Agents’ Registration Board for more than a term and has been a member on the Board of Governors and Academic Board of the Singapore College of Insurance.
Credit, Political Risk & Surety
Credit, Political Risk & SuretyWith more than 13 years of international experience in credit and sovereign risk underwriting, Edmund leads our Credit, Political Risk & Surety practice. He oversees the strategic development of the credit portfolio across Singapore and the wider Asia region, with a strong focus on structured credit solutions for financial institutions and corporates. Before joining Howden, Edmund held senior roles in London, most recently as a Director at BMS Group, where he was instrumental in building key client relationships and expanding the firm’s presence among major lenders. Known for his ability to navigate complex political and economic environments, he has supported clients across diverse markets with bespoke, high-impact credit and risk transfer solutions.
