Frequently Asked Questions about StudySafe
You can be insured under this policy if you are:
- Between 10 and 50 years of age; and
- Registered as a full-time student and holding a valid student identification card issued by an educational institution in Singapore; and
- Holding a valid student pass and/or dependent pass issued by the government authorities in Singapore throughout the entire period of insurance.
StudySafe is eligible only for full-time students studying in Singapore throughout the entire period of insurance, thus all applicants must have a valid Singapore residential address to apply for this policy. We do not accept foreign address.
If we receive your cancellation request before the start date of the policy, we will provide a full refund.
After the start date of the policy - we will work out your refund based on this calculation:
[85% of the premium paid] x [Period of insurance (in days) still left to run / Original period of insurance of this policy]
We do not refund any amount below $37.45 (inclusive of GST). We will also not provide premium refunds if a claim has been made under your policy.
This policy covers hospitalisation expenses due to COVID-19 under Section 23a and emergency medical evacuation and sending you home due to COVID-19 under Section 23b.
Please note that claims for expenses in Singapore that you can recover from elsewhere and expenses in your home country are not covered. Any expenses incurred for mandatory COVID-19 diagnostic tests that are required to take for the trip, such as Antigen Rapid Test (ART), Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, rostered routine tests, pre-departure tests and post-arrival tests are also not covered.

You must fulfil all vaccination, predeparture tests and post-arrival tests requirements (if any) imposed by the destination country or transport operator at the time your trip is booked. You need not submit the test result or proof of vaccination at the time you purchase this policy but you must furnish it to us at the time you submit the claim.
This policy covers leisure trips overseas journey during the period of insurance.
Cover for a leisure trip starts when you leave Singapore, or your home country and ends:
- 90 consecutive days from the start of your leisure trip; or
- when you arrive at your Singapore residence; or
- when you arrive at the international or domestic airport / port of your home country; or
- on the expiry of the period of insurance.
whichever is earlier.
Travel to Afghanistan, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan and Syria, as well as against travel advisories are not covered. Please refer to the policy wordings for full terms and conditions.

The policy covers leisure activities that are accessible to the general public/tourists such as bungee jumping, scuba diving (subject to certain conditions), motorcycling (including pillion riding), horse riding, winter sports, water rafting are covered.
However, dangerous sports and activities (e.g. hunting, cave diving, ice climbing etc.) are not covered. You may contact us at s[email protected] if you wish to check if the activity you are taking part in is covered.
Accidental Medical Expenses claim is on reimbursement basis. We will not reimburse any expense you can recover from specific medical insurance covering the same loss or expense.
Claims must be filed within 30 days of the insured incident.
Income may contact you for any additional documents or information required to assess your claim. It usually takes 10 working days to process your claims after all required documents are received.
