Howden’s dedicated team, in partnership with Bowls New Zealand have put together an insurance package which provides significantly wider cover than standard policies in the market, offers premium pricing which is very competitive and includes streamlined claims service.
In addition, we will perform a no-obligation, free of charge initial audit review of your current insurance program and identify any potential gaps in cover.
Insurance considerations

Prize Insurance

Prize Insurance allows event planners to promote big grand prizes like cars, holidays, sporting equipment and so much more without the large price tag. Howden has streamlined the process of obtaining prize insurance, so it is quick and super easy!
For a relatively small premium, you will be on your way to running a successful sports contest without too much risk.
If someone completes the sports contest successfully, the policy will pay for the prize, so you don’t have to!
The standard Bowls NZ Club Insurance scheme offers:
- Comprehensive policies at competitive rates;
- Potential savings on current premiums (compared to other options in the market);
- Additional savings as more bowling clubs join the scheme;
- More comprehensive Public Liability cover under the Association Liability Policy;
- The following Liability covers are included in the standard Association Liability Policy: Statutory Liability (Health & Safety), Trustee Liability, Cover for Volunteers, Crime cover.
- Standard also includes Material Damage (which itself can cover natural and artificial bowling green cover if required) and Business Interruption;
- Additional policies can also be obtained (if needed) for motor-vehicle, event, and/or prize insurance;
- Streamlined claims service; and
- Specialised sports club brokers and service team.
In addition to the above, we have negotiated rates with discounted pricing for building and asset valuations when they are needed.
