Medical liability insurance for medical professionals

Medical Indemnity insurance, also known as medical malpractice insurance or medical liability insurance, helps to protect healthcare professionals against claims arising as a result of malpractice or negligence.

If a claim is made against you, regardless of whether it is justified or not, you will need to cover the cost of legal defences. Medical Indemnity will cover those costs as well as any compensation you may need to pay.

Cover that ends when the policy payments do can turn into a nightmare, especially as many claims have a gestation period of several years.

Your Howden policy provides cover on an occurrence basis. There is no deadline for making claims and no complicated reporting requirements. Even doctors who are retired retain their right to make a claim.

Being covered at the time the incident occurred is crucial.

Who needs Medical malpractice insurance?
