NORTH (now Howden) acquires Joblife A/S

NORTH acquires Joblife A/S - a nationwide consulting firm in the field of occupational health and prevention of work-related injuries.

NORTH, owned by the global insurance group Howden, acquires Joblife A/S, which is a nationwide authorized occupational health advisor with a range of specialties in safety, health, and occupational environment.

For over 40 years, Joblife has helped public and private clients establish healthy and safe workplaces where employees thrive. As part of the advice on creating a good and developing work environment, Joblife offers a wide range of training courses for management, employees, and occupational health organizations. The company is authorized by the Danish Working Environment Authority and the Danish Evaluation Institute, EVA, and 40 highly educated employees serve around 2,000 business customers in all industries including public organizations from five locations in Allerød, Aarhus, Aalborg, Odense, and Kolding.

With Joblife as a partner, NORTH can take a big and strategic step further into the area of occupational health and evidence-based prevention and focus on public and private companies' management of people risk. This is a natural extension of NORTH's work with customers' risk management, risk assessment, damage limitation, and for example, collaboration with pension companies on early intervention and ongoing workplace assessment.

"In recent years, we see a shift in focus from healthcare to self-care both within the company and among individuals, where both parties work together to take greater responsibility for ensuring the organization's and their own health and well-being. This is rewarded with better conditions as they develop into better customers through prevention and a better risk assessment. This aligns perfectly with NORTH's business philosophy and role as the customers' risk guide."  siger Lars Gundorph, Group CEO, NORTH.

Joblife offers evidence-based counseling, education, and a range of services within six core areas; psychology and leadership, health and ergonomics, accident prevention, indoor climate and technology, systematics and strategy, as well as chemistry and biology.

"We get a really good owner who can accelerate our growth and further develop the work of creating long-term and close partnerships with customers. Prevention is a long journey, and with NORTH, we will be able to help customers with their challenges in a coordinated effort that will ensure visible results in the short term, but also with a very concrete and measurable value of the preventive effort in the form of better conditions on insurance."  siger adm. direktør og medejer Jan F. Steenhard, Joblife A/S.

Joblife has been an independent joint stock company associated with Niras since 2019. The company originally emerged from the former occupational health services, which were phased out 20 years ago. Joblife helps companies prevent and thus reduce the risk of work-related injuries for the benefit of employees and the bottom line. The company has a systematic approach to preventing work-related injuries with a focus on occupational health economics. They identify what the company is currently doing and analyze and act on areas that can be improved. In this way, Joblife can prevent and prevent injuries from occurring.

In Denmark, we have a long tradition of prioritizing prevention both as individuals and in the workplace, and in the old days, the labor legislation primarily focused on protecting employees from work. It is still a factor, but today we are in a completely different place with a different evolving agenda, which is about developing the workplace and developing and retaining labor, including through high well-being.  siger Jan F. Steenhard.

The entire organization, including the management of Joblife, continues under the auspices of NORTH, where Joblife will continue to operate as an independent company in the closest possible collaboration.

"We look forward to being part of a broader organization with the opportunities that lie within it, and present concrete ways in which we can together handle and improve customers' human risks even more than we already do today individually."  siger Jan F. Steenhard.

"It will be a very exciting time. We have looked at the competencies and results creation in Joblife and know that we are getting the right people on board with the right values and approach to customers. We look forward to collaborating across the two companies so that together we create even more value for customers." siger Lars Gundorph.

NORTH was established in May 2021 with the ambition to set a new standard for financial advice in the Danish market and create security in companies' decisions through 360-degree risk advice and widespread use of digital tools. NORTH offers advice to private and public companies either as an independent advisor, impartial broker, or through a cost-effective agency model based on industry agreements, ensuring smaller companies good deals at attractive prices.

Since January 2024, NORTH has been a part of the global insurance group Howden and is now undergoing a proper name and logo change on October 1st, while NORTH is moving its headquarters in Lyngby to accommodate the entire organization.

The parties have agreed not to disclose financial details about the transaction, which is subject to usual terms in connection with the closing of the deal.
