Engineering reports

Two people looking at some technical plans

What does an engineering report contain?

The engineering report is often used for insurance offers and aims to provide insurance brokers and insurance companies with relevant risk information, security measures, insurance values, and loss estimates such as PBG, EML, and business interruption, for the overall insurance assessment.

The engineering report is based on the inspection of one or more locations and mainly concerns fire, theft, operational, and building risks.

The engineering report can include, among other things

  • Company description
  • Areas and insurance values
  • PBG (Premium Calculation Basis) for buildings and construction
  • Loose change
  • EML (Estimated Maximum Loss)
  • Building and security description.
  • Drawing attachment
  • Photo appendix

The preparation of engineering reports is done in collaboration with the client and can be carried out at one or more of the company’s locations. For multiple locations, a comprehensive overview is provided, which can serve as the foundation for the company's overall work on risk management and prevention.
