From a one-room office in 1994 to one of the world’s top 10 insurance brokers thirty years later, Howden is reshaping how U.S. businesses manage risk.

Growth that speaks for itself

Howden’s rise in the U.S. is rapid. But it’s simply the next chapter in a 30-year story of growth.

From day one, we’ve been built on a clear principle: give the brightest talent the freedom to do what’s best for their clients, and success will follow. Thirty years and 57 countries later, it still holds.

We’re not new to the U.S. either. Over a decade of underwriting through DUAL and deep distribution partnerships gave us the foundation to know when we were ready to do something more.

1995-2004

Our international expansion begins

We open our underwriting arm, DUAL, in Madrid. Today, it’s one of the world’s largest MGAs. Howden Iberia soon follows.

By our 10th anniversary, we’ve reached India and Australia, plus $26.8m global revenue and 250 colleagues.

2005-2014

We open our doors in the Middle East, Asia, and the U.S.

In 2008, we open in Dubai.

2011 marks our entry into Asia, starting with our acquisition of Asia’s largest independent retail broker. We also begin to serve the U.S market as a London and Bermuda-based wholesaler, working through distribution partners.

Then, by expanding DUAL into the U.S. in 2013.

Latin America follows the next year, with offices in Colombia and Brazil.

By the end of this decade Howden Group records $268m in global revenue, with 2,000 colleagues in 37 countries.

Since 2014, we’ve donated millions of dollars to charitable partners in 38 countries.

2015-2024

We launch Howden One Network  

In 2017 Howden One Network goes live, connecting clients to specialist expertise in over 120 countries through one platform.

In 2023 we acquire U.S.-based TigerRisk, now Howden Tiger, one of the market’s most respected advisory firms, and a signal of where we’re headed.

By the end of this decade: $4.7bn in revenue, 24,000 people, 56 countries — including a deepening U.S. footprint through DUAL and Howden Tiger. We’re now one of the world’s top 10 insurance brokers, and the fastest growing by organic growth. The U.S. retail launch is the next logical step.

2025-present

1,000+ U.S. colleagues, 50 states, here to stay 

In 2025, we bring together Atlantic Group and Gravitas to launch Howden U.S. as a full retail broking business. Mike Parrish is appointed CEO. Within months: 1,000+ colleagues, 50+ locations across the U.S., clients ranging from family offices to Fortune 100 companies.  

In early 2026, Howden U.S., Latin America & Caribbean are united as Howden Americas with Mike Parrish overseeing the entire region as CEO. With deep specialist expertise now spanning both sides of the Atlantic, Howden Group now exceeds 25,000 people in 57 countries. We’re not here to test the market. We’re here to stay.
