Howden selects Miami as its Americas headquarters

Move positions the company for growth in the Americas while expanding its presence in one of the nation's leading business and innovation hubs

MIAMI, July 27, 2026 — Global insurance company Howden today announced that Miami will serve as headquarters for its Americas commercial insurance broking business.  

"Miami is one of the world's most connected business communities and an increasingly important location for companies operating across the Americas," said Mike Parrish, CEO of Howden Americas. "We're thrilled to be the only global broker based here."

Since announcing its U.S. broking operation a year ago, Howden has launched more than 20 industry-specific broking teams in the United States, as well as Private Capital, Employee Health & Benefits, and Private Client groups. With more than 1,300 colleagues and 3,000 clients across the United States, the company serves middle market to large enterprise companies and organizations.

"Miami has always been the natural hub for business flowing between the U.S. and Latin America, and now our team has a home right at the center of it," said Sonia Caamaño, CEO of Latin America and the Caribbean at Howden. "This will mean even closer collaboration with clients and carriers whose business spans the region and a direct line into the U.S. market."

Howden Latin America and the Caribbean has grown to more than 1,000 employees across 12 offices in five key countries: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile. The region is one of the insurance industry's fastest-growing markets, even though much of Latin America remains underinsured relative to global peers — creating significant opportunity for Howden to close that gap and serve a market where demand for coverage is outpacing access to it.

Parrish noted that Howden will be just as active in the Miami community as it is in the marketplace. In its first year of operations, the company has directed approximately $400,000 to Miami area nonprofit and community organizations. "Miami is more than our headquarters, it's our home," said Parrish. "We'll show up here with the same energy and dedication we bring to our clients and colleagues."
