Howden launches U.S. Aviation Practice to deliver specialty insurance capabilities to aviation and aerospace clients nationwide

New practice unites technical knowledge, underwriting experience, and a client-first approach to serve the full spectrum of aviation risk

London and Miami, May 21, 2026: Howden, the global insurance broking group, today announces the launch of its U.S. Aviation Practice, delivering comprehensive risk management services and insurance placement across a broad range of clients in the aviation ecosystem. The practice serves the full breadth of the industry, including commercial airlines, fixed-base operators (FBOs), charter operators, aircraft and parts manufacturers, military contractors, public entities, and aerospace companies.

Rapidly shifting geopolitical conditions are creating risk exposures for U.S. aviation operators that are more multifaceted and fast-moving than in almost any other industry. For domestic carriers and international operators alike, the risk environment has never been more demanding. At the same time, widespread broker consolidation has left aviation clients without the dedicated, technical service their exposures require. Howden's U.S. Aviation Practice is designed to address both challenges directly, pairing high-level technical expertise with the service standards that clients deserve.

Led by Julio Jimenez, Aviation Practice Leader, a seasoned leader whose ability to build and inspire teams is matched by his experience and expertise across the aviation sector. The practice brings together technical knowledge, underwriting experience, and a client-first approach – a combination that positions the Howden Aviation team to meet the demands of an industry facing increasing volatility.

Julio Jimenez, Aviation Practice Leader, Howden U.S., said: "Aviation companies are being squeezed from two directions at once. The geopolitical environment is creating real, immediate volatility in risk profiles and insurance needs. Meanwhile, the insurance industry continues to underinvest in and underservice a sector that is incredibly complex, dynamic, and exposed. These two forces underpin the need for a team with unmatched aviation expertise that’s empowered to design and deliver for aviation clients’ specialized needs – the team we’re launching today."

Mike Parrish, CEO, Howden Americas, said: "Julio and the team have built their careers at the highest levels of this industry. In a market facing this much volatility, that matters enormously. Bringing them onto our platform means Aviation clients get access to global capabilities, expertise, and an unrelenting focus on what they truly need."
