App‑based platforms such as Blacklane and Wheely now play a major role in the chauffeur industry. To reflect this shift, our underwriting has been updated to include:

“Bookings pre‑arranged on the website or pre‑arranged via Blacklane or Wheely App.”

This means more independent chauffeurs and executive drivers can now access specialist cover – including those who rely heavily on these platforms for work.

What chauffeur insurance covers

Chauffeur insurance is designed for drivers transporting passengers in premium or high‑value vehicles. It provides protection if an accident, injury, or property damage occurs while you’re working, and can include legal costs and compensation when required.

If you ever need to make a claim, you’ll be supported by a dedicated handler who’ll work to get you back on the road quickly.

We also hold delegated authority with an A‑rated insurer, allowing us to underwrite policies in‑house. This helps us arrange cover efficiently and respond faster when you need us.

Unfortunately we cannot insure Uber drivers.

You need to call or email us to inform us of this so we can ensure you have the correct cover in place. Should it be decided that green cards are required following Britain’s exit from the European Union, these will be issued automatically.

No, there is no restriction on your mileage.

Please contact us and we will be able to appoint you a dedicated claims handler at Sovereign Automotive, the company which deals with claims on our behalf. (This is no different to reporting a normal claim). You might also want to consider our GAP insurance product.

We offer breakdown cover at a competitive rate. Vehicles must be no more than 20 years old. Call 020 7623 3806 for more information.

Please contact us and we can put you in contact with your claims handler who will arrange for your windscreen to be fixed. Windscreen claims do not affect your no claims bonus.

Public Liability isn’t standard on the policy, however, we can offer cover for £5m liability.
