Travel agents and tour operators

Cover built around your trips and your travellers' needs

Protect travellers the right way

Whether they’re volunteering, joining conservation work, or going on the trip of a lifetime, help protect your clients with travel insurance for travel agencies and tour operators.

We have decades of experience in student and youth travel insurance, and long-standing relationships with leading travel-focused associations. So we’re perfectly placed to help offer this value-added service to your clients going on their adventures. Your dedicated account manager will also be on hand for extra services, such as risk management support, to further protect your business.

We’ll work closely with you to develop cover around the trips you provide and the travellers you serve. From gap year travel to adventure sports, we’ve got your clients covered.

What's covered with travel agents and tour operators packages?

Through expert consultation, our account managers will create your portfolio of insurance so you can be confident you have the right options in place. Together, we can create a safer experience for your travellers.

Our youth and student policies typically include cover for these risks (maximum cover limits apply):

Cancellation or curtailment
This is cover for irrecoverable, unused costs of a trip the traveller has prepaid (or contracted to pay) if the trip has to be cancelled or cut short due to an unforeseen event. This may be an illness, injury, or death, for example.

Baggage and personal possessions
We'll cover the traveller if their personal belongings are accidentally lost, damaged, or stolen when they're away.

Medical emergency and other expenses
If a traveller is injured or becomes unwell on a trip, this pays the costs of medical treatment, hospital and ambulance fees, as well as emergency dental treatment. Medical repatriation costs are also included.

Money, passport, and documents
This covers accidental loss, theft of, or damage to money and important travelling documentation such as a passport or visa. This includes reasonable additional travel and accommodation expenses while they're abroad and arranging a replacement.

Missed or delayed departure
This can cover extra transport for missed or delayed public transport to or from their home country after an insured event, such as extreme weather.

Personal accident cover
This provides your travellers and their families with financial security if the traveller has an accident that leads to permanent bodily injury, or if they die.

Legal expenses and personal liability
This covers legal expenses and personal liability if your travellers are legally liable to pay compensation after accidentally damaging someone's property, or injuring them. It can also help protect your organisation's reputation during a legal dispute.

Sports and activities cover
As standard, we cover 75 different sports and activities arranged under the supervision of your organisation. So clients won't need to get extra specialist insurance.

Extras and enhancements to the standard cover include:

  • Specialist sports and activities
  • Winter sports
  • Weather delay
  • Hijack and hostage
  • Catastrophes and natural disasters
  • Air rage

Travellers can be protected for up to a year anywhere in the world, so they can explore, safe in the knowledge that they're covered.

Who's covered?

Whether they’re volunteering, joining conservation work, or on the gap year of a lifetime, our youth and student cover can help keep them protected. We cover all sorts of trips, including:

  • Single trip, study, gap year travel
  • School groups for overseas and domestic travel
  • Working and volunteering abroad
  • Winter sports and adventure sports

We feel that our needs and the needs of our customers are always very well listened and responded to. It is unusual in this day and age to deal with a larger company and still enjoy the personal touch!
