BCGBA member cover
We’ve teamed up with Sportscover to develop insurance designed to make life easier as a BCGBA member, with:
Variations of cover
Specialist cover for leagues, associations, clubs, and registered members of BCGBA.
Combined sports liability
Option to buy liability protection, which includes public and product liability, professional indemnity, and employers' liability.
Personal accident insurance
A fixed benefit policy to protect players, officials, and referees for specific injuries while involved with the sport.
Directors’ and officers' cover
This offers protection for the legal liabilities of committee members.
BCGBA insurance FAQs
Your insurance policy is underwritten by Sportscover. This means the management of your policy is done via their website. You can renew your policy by following this process:
- Go to the BCGBA website.
- Choose ‘Insurance Web Portal’ to go to the Sportscover website.
- Click ‘Renew here’.
- Have your BCGBA membership number to hand (all clubs, leagues and counties need to provide the number to use the online system).
- The County Associations have provided BCGBA with lists of all primary affiliated clubs, leagues, and associations in their county. BCGBA has issued membership numbers to County Associations for all the clubs, leagues, and associations notified to them. If you haven't received your membership number, contact your county secretary or the BCGBA national registrar at [email protected].
- Once you’ve entered your membership number, double-check the member details are correct, especially your email address. This where your documents will be sent.
The BCGBA has moved the renewal date to fall in line with their membership renewals. As a result, the cover period begins before any new season. Contact the BCGBA if you’d like to know more.
If you haven’t received your documentation via email, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still can’t find the documents, contact us.
We only issue a certificate for employer’s liability insurance. If you need evidence of cover for public liability, you can use the policy schedule.
We can’t take payment over the phone, because all policies have to go through the Sportscover website. This is so that the correct documentation can be issued.
Please check the reference you are using is correct. If you are a club, it will end CL.
