Description

We are now recruiting for a Trainee Broker to provide support to the CEE and North American Team of the Division (which also provides insurance solutions for Turkey and Azerbaijan) in the day-to-day account handling tasks including dealing with client queries, servicing existing portfolio, expanding the portfolio, maintaining files, and advising on coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the team on a number of Howden Insurance Products, including PI, D&O, FI and GL etc.
  • Liaising with underwriters.
  • Liaising with account handlers.
  • Liaising with clients over the phone and on email on all account handling issues.
  • Ensuring timely renewal of existing portfolio, and making sure internal control systems are kept up to date.
  • Ensure successful completion of new and renewal business.
  • Creation of broking information, quote sheets, and slips etc.
  • Administering insurance documentation in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Providing a professional service to clients and the Business Producers within the team.
  • General account handling duties.
  • Ensuring timely payment of accounts.


Key Accountabilities

  • Servicing clients and Business Producers and ensuring all documentation is processed accurately and on time.
  • Providing up to date information to management as and when required.
  • To develop your technical knowledge on PI, D&O, FI and GL.
  • Effective servicing of accounts.
  • To build and maintain underwriter/team relationships.

The ideal candidate should be educated to degree level.  You should have strong negotiation and communication skills and be technically proficient with the use of computer systems (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).  Prior experience in the insurance industry would be advantageous, especially with regard to having technical knowledge on FCA regulations and understanding of processes and procedures within the insurance markets in the UK, Turkey and Azerbaijan.  As this role will be within a department dealing with Turkish clients, then Turkish language ability would be valuable.

In this role you will develop new / existing relationships with underwriters so that you are able to obtain the best service for our clients in the Australasian market.

  • To liaise with underwriters.

ACCOUNT HANDLER

Job Location:    London
Salary Range:   £30,000-35,000 per annum

Description

  • Responsibility for the day to day account handling tasks within the UK Corporate Risks division, including dealing with client queries, servicing the existing client portfolio, advising clients on general coverage queries, issuing cover notes/confirmation of cover documents and insurance registers.
  • Assisting in the writing of renewal reports and broking presentations, negotiating renewal/new business terms with insurers, the management of various binders and ensuring the efficient management of the filling system.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the management, control and administration of complex commercial insurance programmes.
  • Technical knowledge dealing with multi-class commercial insurance programmes.
  • Competent negotiation, administration, IT, prioritisation, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • ‘A’ Levels (grades A-C) / Graduate
  • Support will be provided to anyone wishing to study or continue their studies to attain relevant qualifications.
