Jeremy joined Howden Philippines in late 2015 to start his transition process with the outgoing CEO. He officially became President and CEO on January 2016.

During his 12 years in the insurance industry, he has established a reputation for delivering innovative solutions in response to demanding insurance challenges for highly complex risks.

Jeremy started his career in the industry with an international insurance company. He later on joined a US-based multinational insurance broker and just prior to Howden, he was with a UK-based insurance broker.

He is a licensed Civil Engineer that graduated from De La Salle University and practiced his profession for a couple of years with a construction management firm before entering the insurance industry. He has also attended a number of training on risk and insurance here and abroad in the past 12 years.

Teresita C. Martin
Vice President

Ms. Martin heads up Finance, IT and Human Resources, and is chiefly responsible for overseeing the company’s internal control system, accounting process, fund management and MIS. Concurrently, she handles the IT and personnel functions. Prior to joining the group in 2001, she was Operations Head at Solid Insurance Brokers, Inc. for 9 years.
She is a BSc (Accounting) graduate of the Far Eastern University, and has undergone insurance and reinsurance accounting training at the Insurance Institute for Asia & the Pacific and the Philippine Insurance Institute.

Frankie G. Panis
Director, Non-Life Division

Frankie joined Howden Philippines in August 2016 to oversee and manage the overall operations of its Non-Life Broking Division which consists of the following Departments - Non-Life Servicing, New Business Development, Non-Life Claims and Risk Management.

He has more than 23 years of professional insurance broking experience, including the last 10 years in a senior management role from a US based multinational insurance broking firm. Prior to that, he has logged in 6 years’ experience with another multinational broker at middle management level and started his career in the insurance industry fresh from college working with a local intermediary.

Through the years, he has gained extensive Non-Life insurance background in underwriting, sales and business development, corporate account management, claims advocacy and risk consultancy. He was able to attain international exposures in terms of trainings, workshops and job immersion apart from the numerous local seminars he attended.

He graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a degree in BS Mechanical Engineering belonging to the top 10% of the graduating class of 1992.

Konavarpu B. S. Ezra
Head of Reinsurance

Mr. Ezra is currently responsible for the Reinsurance Division of Howden Insurance Brokers, as well as a desk primarily catering to Indian-owned or Indian-managed corporations. He held various positions in the New India Assurance Co., Ltd., both in India and Singapore, where he handled key positions in Underwriting, Investments, Claims and Finance. His experience includes underwriting and reinsuring large industrial risks – Auto, Chemical and Steel – of the Tata conglomerate.

In the Philippines, he was Country Manager of The New India Assurance Co.’s Manila office for over 8 years. He joined Howden in 2002, and was principally involved in bringing large reinsurance claims to completion and in placing reinsurance for major power risks. He continues in that capacity today in placing reinsurance on behalf of state-owned Government Service Insurance System for risks like Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Land Bank of the Philippines, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. and other government-owned financial institutions. His consultancies over the years include engagements as Financial Management Specialist for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Emergency Support Services in Indonesia following the 2004 earthquake and tsunami disasters, and as Non-Life Advisor for the ADB office in Manila.

A degree holder (B. Sc in Physics and Mathematics) from the University of Calcutta, Mr. Ezra also has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad (in partnership with the Harvard Business School), as well as an Associateship from the Insurance Institute of India.


Ivy F. Siochi

Head of Business Development Employee Benefits Division

Ivy joined Howden in the last quarter of 2017 as Head of Business Development for the Employee Benefits Division, she identifies, qualifies and secures business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationship with current and potential clients.

Her areas of expertise range from Benefit Consulting, Plan Design, Cost Analysis, Claims Analysis, Benchmarking and Gap Analysis of Employee Benefit Programs such as Medical, Life and Accident Insurance. She also works with global companies in localisation, harmonisation and global pooling of Employee Benefits Programs.

Prior to Howden, she was with a multinational insurance broker as Senior Manager for Business Development and the Consulting Team Lead. Her experience and passion for the past 10 years in the insurance industry made her more competitive in the area of her expertise.

Ivy is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts, Major in Communication Arts at University of Santo Tomas. She also speaks Conversational Japanese and is a Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Passer Level N4, JLPT is the largest-scale Japanese-language test in the world being offered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (formerly Association of International Education, Japan).

Maribel E.Carlos
Senior Manager - Employee Benefits Division

Ms. Carlos is the Head for Employee Benefits Servicing team overseeing sales, renewal, servicing and claims administration.  Her expertise include Life, HMO, Travel and Personal Accident insurance. 

She previously heads the Renewal Sales of the Employee Benefits team. She closely coordinates with the providers to ensure that they charge the adequate premiums vis-à-vis the benefits. She ensures that prompt responses to clients are kept to keep them satisfied.  She services major accounts including policies dating back as far as 1949.

Her service in the Zuellig Group started in 1986 right after her graduation from college, beginning with a Management Information Systems career at Zuellig Insurance Brokers. She then transferred to FEZ Life and Accident Insurance Services, Inc. and then Accette Insurance Brokers. In 2001 she moved to a Marketing responsibility. In 2016, she received her loyalty award for 30 years of service in the company.

Maribel graduated in Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a degree in Banking and Finance. She is a Certified Investment Solicitor having passed the ICRCP Examination of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
